This series will focus on twists! Join me as we work on spinal strength and mobility if a variety of twisting postures.
1. Spinal Mobility: Twisting postures help improve the flexibility and mobility of the spine. This is particularly beneficial if you sit at a desk all day.
2. Detoxification: Twists are often referred to as "wringing out" the internal organs. When you twist, you compress and then release the abdominal organs, which can aid in detoxification and improve the functioning of the digestive system.
3. Improved Digestion: Twisting postures can stimulate and massage the digestive organs, helping to alleviate issues like constipation and indigestion. They also promote the flow of digestive juices and can enhance the efficiency of nutrient absorption.
4. Enhanced Circulation: Twisting poses temporarily constrict blood flow to the area being twisted, and when released, fresh blood rushes in. This can improve circulation and oxygenation to the spine and surrounding tissues.
5. Strengthening Core Muscles: Twisting postures engage the core muscles, including the obliques. This can contribute to better core strength and stability.
